When ALIV received its license in June 2016, it marked the beginning of a new chapter for connectivity in The Bahamas. Five months later, ALIV welcomed its first customers, daring to challenge the status quo and give Bahamians more choice, more innovation and more value in their service.

While ALIV transformed the consumer telecommunications landscape, the needs of Bahamian businesses were changing just as rapidly. Digital transformation accelerated and remote work became the new norm as the COVID-19 pandemic brought countries all around the world to a standstill. Cyber threats grew more sophisticated and digital business continuity upgraded from a competitive advantage to a necessity.

Connectivity was no longer about simply opening your browser and surfing the web. A new era of the digital world was born, one where business now relied on secure connection to remain competitive.

Recognizing this shift, Cable Bahamas Business Solutions was reintroduced as ALIV Business in 2023, delivering an expert mixture of fixed, mobile, cybersecurity solutions to help Bahamian businesses navigate this new landscape where security, resilience and long-term digital growth ruled the world.

Since then, ALIV Business has continued to evolve beyond traditional telecommunications. Through initiatives such as the Ultimate Business Makeover and the annual Cybersecurity Summit, the company has consistently invested in helping Bahamian enterprises modernize their operations.

That evolution is reflected in partnerships with organizations like AML Food Limited, one of The Bahamas’ largest retail groups. With franchise and retail locations spanning four islands, the company depends on ALIV Business’ internet, hosted business phone system (HPBX – Hosted Private Branch Exchange), mobile and disaster recovery solutions to keep its operations running.

“ALIV Business has become a critical part of how AML Foods operates day to day,” said Dave M. Forbes, CISA, CEH, Vice President of Information Technology at AML Foods. “As we’ve grown, ALIV Business has grown with us, supporting our expansion with the connectivity, communication and resilience we need to keep our teams, our stores and our customers connected and secured.” Jennifer Basden, Head of B2B Marketing, has witnessed firsthand the evolving needs of Bahamian businesses and the role technology plays in helping them adapt and grow.

“We’re proud to support AML Foods with reliable connectivity,” said Basden, “We are committed to delivering the innovative solutions and dedicated support that enable their continued growth and success.”

As ALIV celebrates a decade of more innovation, the evolution of ALIV Business reflects a broader transformation taking place across The Bahamas. Businesses today don’t need technology. They need technology partners who can help them compete in a rapidly changing digital economy.

We are in the business of what comes next. Are you?
