CEO of Cable Bahamas Gifts Coding Kits to Girls in STEM, Honoring Bahamian Astronaut’s Legacy

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Franklyn Butler II, CEO of Cable Bahamas and founder of the Butler Legacy Foundation, is deepening his personal commitment to empowering the next generation of female leaders in technology. Through the Foundation, Butler has donated 20 LINGO coding kits to high school girls across New Providence, marking a pivotal investment in the future of Bahamian women in STEM.

This initiative builds on the electrifying momentum created by Aisha Bowe, the first Bahamian woman to travel to space, who recently completed a groundbreaking mission with Blue Origin. Bowe—an aerospace engineer, tech entrepreneur, and trailblazer—continues to inspire students around the world with her passion for making STEM education more accessible.

The connection was first forged during last November’s InspireHER symposium, hosted by Cable Bahamas Ltd., where Bowe introduced her latest educational innovation—the LINGO coding kit. Designed to make STEM learning fun, interactive, and inclusive, the kits are now being placed directly into the hands of Bahamian girls, turning inspiration into action.

Motivated by a shared vision of increasing representation in STEM, the Butler Legacy Foundation partnered with Bowe to gift these transformative tools to ten schools: RM Bailey High, CI Gibson High, Government High, CR Walker High, CV Bethel High, The School of the Deaf, Windsor High School, Queen’s College, Genesis High, and St. Augustine’s College. Each institution will receive two kits to incorporate into their technology programs.

“This initiative is deeply personal for me, both as the leader of a technology company and as a father to my daughter,” said Butler. “It is an honor to support Aisha Bowe, a talented Bahamian woman in STEM, while empowering girls are inspired to reach the stars, as well.”

Through the Butler Legacy Foundation’s gift, this effort seeks not only to foster technical skills but to spark curiosity, ambition, and confidence in young women across The Bahamas.
