This year, thanks to ALIV’s partnership with the Bahamas Football Association
(BFA), the excitement of the Beach Soccer Championship Qualifiers is reaching
audiences worldwide, bringing the thrill of the game to fans across the globe.

For Michael Butler, goalkeeper of The Bahamas National Team, beach soccer is unlike any other sport. “It’s a party atmosphere. It’s amazing,” he shares.
“The tricks, the backflips, the bikes, everything. There’s goal after goal after goal”.
His passion for the sport was ignited in 2017 when The Bahamas hosted the Beach Soccer World Cup, and he watched national captain Lesly St. Fleur dominate the field. Now, Butler is living that same dream, representing his country on home soil.
For St. Fleur, a veteran of both field and beach soccer, his journey started with a simple decision. After representing The Bahamas on the Men’s National Team, he decided to give beach soccer “a shot” back in 2009. More than a decade later, he’s one of the top beach soccer players in the region, proving that taking a chance can lead to incredible opportunities. “Just follow your dream. It’s always good to try a new sport. So if you want to do it, just come out and do your thing,” he said.

None of this would be possible without the infrastructure and digital support that make global engagement seamless. Lionel Haven, co-chair of the BFA Local Organizing Committee, emphasizes how far the sport has come. “We started [playing beach soccer] back in the late ’90s when it was really just more recreational than anything,” he explained. “The building of [the beach soccer stadium] a couple of years ago really put us in the map…we’ve hosted the regional confederation championships, and we’ve also hosted the Beach Soccer World Cup.”
With teams from Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, the United States, Panama, The Bahamas, and Trinidad & Tobago competing, the tournament is a showcase of elite, global talent. But it’s also a testament to the power of digital connection. “At 2:30 today, I sent my daughter who lives in Atlanta a link for the games, and she was able to sit down and watch the game,” Haven shares. “The collaboration between the association and ALIV is fantastic—it takes us to the world.”
At ALIV, we believe in empowering communities and elevating experiences through our mobile technology. Whether it’s live-streaming a high-stakes tournament, keeping athletes connected on the road, or ensuring fans worldwide can support their teams in real time, we’re dedicated to making moments like this possible
For players like Butler, staying connected is essential. “The data since I moved back has been pretty good. It’s fluid, man. No problems at all,” he says. “It’s great to be ALIV.”
And for the Bahamas Football Association, this partnership is about more than just technology—it’s about gorwing the game, strengthening national pride, and setting the stage for even bigger events in the future. “The ideal thing for us would be to try to get the World Cup to come on back,” says Haven. “You’d have the entire world — talk about reaching out digitally.”
As the tournament unfolds, ALIV is proud to stand with the players, the fans, and the entire Bahamian football community. Because whether on the sand, on the sidelines, or tuning in from across the globe—It’s Good to Be ALIV.
